Inclusion for People with Disabilities
The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitative Research  (NIDILRR) is requesting applications for two grant opportunities as part of its Field Initiated (FI) Projects program: (1) FI Projects program research grants and (2) FI Projects program development grants.
The purpose of the grants is to nerate new knowledge through research or to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities. The application deadline for both programs is Feb. 8, 2017.
Walking to Combat Chronic Disease
The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity (DNPAO) seeks applications from Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) regions (or other similar regional entities) for competitive funding assistance to support attendance at the third annual walkability action institute, entitled Step It Up!: Action Institute to Increase Walking and Walkability.
The purpose of the awards is solely for travel to the Walkability Action Institute to be held on April 3-6, 2017 in Decatur, Georgia, outside of Atlanta. The Institute will prepare interdisciplinary teams from MPO regions (or other similar regional entities) to incorporate policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) supports for walking and walkability. The deadline for applications is Nov. 30, 2016.
