Last week, the Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM), a statewide organization dedicated to improving the mobility of all of Maryland's citizens, hosted its Annual Conference and Expo, an educational conference for the State's transportation providers, vendors, and non-profits. While the event attracted over 200 attendees over several days in Ocean City, the Transportation Excellence Awards Ceremony served as a highlight, honoring dedication and innovation within the transportation field in Maryland. Partners in Care retired staff member Barbara Hutson was awarded the TAM Leadership Award while Matt Paugh of Garrett Transit Service won Outstanding Driver. Harford Transit LINK took home the Outstanding Transit System Award and St. Marys Transit System was awarded the Community Engagement Award. Sandra Ruark of Transit Services of Frederick County won the Unsung Transit Employee Award. Longtime TAM Board Member & Treasurer Roy Cool of Allegany County Transit was inducted as the inaugural member of the TAM Hall of Fame. Winners were recognized at a special luncheon during the conference. Photos of winners are below.
TAM's Annual Conference and Expo is considered the premiere conference, networking event, and trade show for Maryland transit providers, human service organizations, and vendors. TAM hosted multiple-day RTAP (Rural Training Assistance Program) sessions, a vendor showcase, general and breakout sessions, and hands-on training along with networking events.
