APTA and FTA Webinar on Automated Vehicle 3.0 and Public Transit - November 9 3-4 PM

Register for the webinar here

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) recently released new policy considerations for automated vehicles, advancing its commitment to supporting the safe integration of automation into the broad multimodal surface transportation system.

Preparing for the Future of Transportation: Automated Vehicle 3.0 (AV 3.0) builds upon Automated Driving Systems 2.0: A Vision for Safety (ADS 2.0) and expands the scope to all surface on-road transportation systems and was developed through the input from a diverse set of stakeholder engagements, throughout the United States.

The U.S. DOT is seeking comments from stakeholders and the public on AV 3.0.  This webinar’s objective is to inform APTA members of what is included in AV 3.0 and discuss comments to submit.

Join APTA 3 PM -  4 PM on Friday, November 9 for a brief overview of AV 3.0 from the Federal Transit Administration. Following remarks from the FTA, discussants and participants will react to AV 3.0 and the challenges and opportunities that these new technologies present for transit agencies in order to provide robust comments to the U.S. DOT on the document.

APTA requests member input before submitting comments on AV 3.0. Those interested in making comments should send an email to Zach Smith (zsmith@apta.com) with "AV 3.0 - Public Comment" in the subject line.

Comments are due to APTA by November 19, 2018.
